Thursday 18.05.2017: Topes de Collantes - Trinidad: 20 km, 32ºC in Trinidad

Walk to the Plaza Mayor where we had lemonade listening to good jazz-salsa music. Lunch at Guitarra Mia with tostones (plantain pan-fried in oil) stuffed with minced crab as a starter for all. Visit of the Museo Municipal. After a short siesta, Stella and Julia went to visit the city out of the tourist area. A drink at the bar while our husbands were playing billiard and light dinner at the Restaurant on the corner of the steps of the Casa de la Música (32,50 CUC).

Friday 19.05.2017: Trinidad - Playa Ancón: 35 km, 30ºC

Drive to Playa Ancón and the Marina. 2 hours at Playa Ancón (2 CUC for the parking and 2 CUC for the chairs pax. We had a good swim and agua de coco. The parking guard recommend a good "paladar" restaurant in Casilda, so he phoned a guy on a motorcycle who guided us to Café "La Estrella". We were surprised to find a nice place behind the ugly façade in this poor village (very nice, good service, good food, 55 CUCd). Back in Trinidad, Stella and Julia went for "shopping" (Stella bought a painting) and back with a “bicitaxi” -a bicycle taxi- (2 CUC). Ximena, Christian and Cristóbal arrived and we were invited to the Restaurant San José (very good, and thus busy). After dinner we went to the Plaza Mayor, paid 1 CUC pax for a great of salsa bands and African dancers. Also the public who was dancing was a performance! Back in the hotel at midnight.
