30.08.09 Pitões Lantemil – Castro Laboreiro (sunny and hot 31 ºC)
As it had been very hot yesterday and our night sleep was a bit disturbed by the unlevel ground at the campground, we decided to continue to Castro Laboreiro which lies at 950 m. Walk up to the castle and afterwards lunch at the Restaurant Miracastro (cabrito assado 16 €/p, delicious!) which had been recommended by an employee, Pepe, of the campground in Lantemil.After a long siesta, we had an ice-cream and walking around, we discovered an information center on the “main square” of Castro Laboreiro” and still hit the trail #3 (1,5 hours, 3,2 km on untidy trails). Overnight stay on the parking lot in the centre (GPS N 42º 01’ 39” – W 8º 9’ 35”).
30.08.09 Pitões Lantemil – Castro Laboreiro (sonnig und heiß 31 ºC)
Da es gestern sehr heiß war und unsere Nacht ein wenig durch die schräge Lage betrübt war, haben wir uns entschieden, nach Castro Laboreiro zu fahren, das auf 950 m liegt. Wir sind hoch zur Burgruine gelaufen und danach haben wir nach Empfehlung von einem Angestellten des Campingplatzes in Lantemil, Pepe, im Restaurant Miracastro zu Mittag gegessen (cabrito assado, 16 €/P., absolut fantastisch!). Nach einer langen Siesta haben wir uns ein Eis gegönnt und bei einem Spaziergang durch die Altstadt haben wir ein Info-Center entdeckt. Daraufhin haben wir noch den Weg Nr. 3 gemacht (1,5 Stunden, 3,2 km auf unsauberen Wegen mit u.a. tödlich pieksigen Ginstern). Übernachtung auf dem Parkplatz im Zentrum (GPS N 42º 01’ 39” – W 8º 9’ 35”).

31.08.09 Castro Laboreiro – Porta de Lamas de Moura (sunny 27 ºC)
After having breakfast with fresh bread from the bakery a few meters away, we set off for our hike (#4 in the Peneda-Gerês map) from Pousios (3 hours, 7 km) where the last upgoing part was a bit hard with the hot sun. Drive to Lamas de Moura and to Porta de Lamas de Moura where we discovered a huge forest and picknick area next to the information centre! We were so happy find a perfect shady space for our camper, and we barbecued, had a good nap, and stayed overnight (GPS: N 41º 57’ 34” - W 8º 10’ 45”).
31.08.09 Castro Laboreiro – Porta de Lamas de Moura (sonnig 27 ºC)
Nachdem wir heute morgen mit frischen Brötchen von der Bäckerei gegenüber gefrühstückt haben, sind wir nach Pousios gefahren und haben von dort aus die Wanderung Nr. 4 aus der Peneda-Geres-Karte gemacht (3 Stunden, 7 km). Der Aufstieg zum Schluss war schon hart bei der starken Sonne. Fahrt nach Lamas de Moura und Porta de Lamas de Moura, wo wir einen wunscherschönen Wald- und Picknickpark entdeckt haben. Dort haben wir uns installiert, gegrillt, Siesta gemacht und auch übernachtet (GPS: N 41º 57’ 34” - W 8º 10’ 45”).

01.09.09 Porta de Lamas de Mouro – Melgaço – Monção – Ponte de Lima (sunny 26 ºC)
Walk of “Lamas de Mouro” (2 hours, 4,5 km). Drive to Melgaço, one of the major “Alvarinho” Vinho Verde villages. We tasted some wine and bought a few bottles from the Casa do Alvarinho where they have all the wines from the surrounding producers.Very good lunch at the Restaurante Cantinho do Adro (5 € for a complete menu with soup, drink, main course, dessert and coffee). Drive to Monção which we didn’t like as much as Melgaço. Drive to Ponte de Lima where we parked the camper on the big parking lot on river side. (GPS: N 41º 46’ 04” - W 8º 35’ 06”). In the evening we still visited three bars in Ponte de Lima – there is a lot going on in this town!
01.09.09 Porta de Lamas de Mouro – Melgaço – Monção – Ponte de Lima (sonnig 26 ºC)
Wanderung „Lamas de Mouro“ (2 Stunden, 4,5
km). Fahrt nach Melgaço, eines der wichtigsten Anbaugebiete für Vinho Verde der
Sorte Alvarinho. Wir haben natürlich eine Weinprobe in der Casa do Alvarinho,
der alle Alvarinho-Produzenten der Gegend vertritt. Einige Flaschen haben wir
natürlich auch gekauft... Mittagessen im Restaurante Cantinho do Adro (5€ für
ein komplettes Mittagessen, inkl. Suppe, Getränk, Hauptspeise, Kaffee). Fahrt
nach Monção, das uns nicht sooo gefallen hat. Fahrt nach Ponte de Lima, wo wir
unser für die Nacht am Flussufer installiert haben (GPS: N 41º 46’ 04” - W 8º
35’ 06”). Abends haben wir dann Ponte de Lima noch unsicher gemacht: wir waren
noch in drei Bars und haben Cocktails, Wein, und Caipirinhas getrunken; da ist
viel los in dieser kleinen Stadt!

wine tasting place. Melgaço: eine reizvolle kleine Stadt.
